Several marijuana dealers are now in legal trouble after properly disposing of their trash.
What started out as a routine check by the Environmental Enforcement Unit turned into a drug bust in Tampa. According to police reports, various materials had been dumped on a property on Brown Road, one of which contained the Meadowview Circle address of a suspect. This led officers to visit the home of one of the suspects; after being invited into the home, officers discovered that it was being used to store marijuana.
Now the five suspects - Alberto Calaramos, 39; Frank Cedeno, 38; Orlando Quintana, 54; Nelson Sotosarria, 37; and Jorge Luis Gonzalez, 42 - face an array of drug crime charges. In total, the men are believed to have trafficked 2,000 to 10,000 pounds of marijuana. One of the suspects was also charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. Until the deputies have obtained a search warrant for the home, it is uncertain just how much marijuana is being stowed there.
