Baseball Player Faces Drug Possession Charges

Although baseball season is now over, one outfielder won't be playing in any games for a while.

Last week a player for a well-known baseball team was arrested for felony possession of marijuana. Two undercover officers just happened to notice that a parked vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. When they approached the vehicle, they discovered that the driver, the outfielder, was smoking pot. This gave them cause to search the vehicle and find 25.9 grams worth of the drug.

In the state of Florida, any possession of marijuana that amounts to less than 20 grams is considered a felony. Since the player had more than the limit, officers were forced to charge him with a felony count. At this time, his time is not commenting on the arrest.
