August 15, from 10:00pm to 2:00 am, there will be a low man checkpoint in District I of Hillsborough County. This northern district will see police on the lookout for those who are
driving under the influence. It will take place at 15043 Bruce B Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL. There will be not BAT or transportation tonight.
Even though this is a legally sanctioned way of cracking down on DUI offenders, there is still such a thing as an unlawful police stop. Officers will be using some sort of plan, pulling over only every fourth driver, or every sixth driver, for example. If they break this pattern to pull you over, this can be a way to get your DUI charges dismissed. If you indicate no signs of being intoxicated, then the police cannot keep you for too long, only about as long as it would take you to wait a full red light. If you have been charged with a DUI, contact a Tampa DUI attorney from Thomas & Paulk to learn how you may be able to defend your charges.
