The Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office has scheduled a saturation patrol in District I Northern Hillsborough County tonight, but they assume that there will be more cause for arrest than in nights’ past because of the holiday that is taking place. The law enforcement officers will be on the lookout for any types of misconduct, but they may be very wary of those that would serve alcohol to minors. Valentine’s Day is a fun time for couples to spend time together and go out for a nice dinner, but if those couples are not yet 21, trying to sneak a sip of alcohol could become a serious issue. Because alcoholic drinks are often considered romantic, underage couples may try to bribe the bartenders, waiters or workers at various restaurants or bars tonight.
If any of those waiters or bartenders give in, then they can be arrested by officers that may be waiting outside. In fact, the law enforcement workers may recruit some young people to request alcohol with their dinner tonight. If the workers acquiesce, then they can be arrested on the stop for serving alcohol to a minor. As well, the many hardworking sheriff’s in the area will be looking for intoxicated drivers, rowdy and reckless teens, speeding drivers, and other offenders that may be out in Tampa. Anyone who attempts to drive while intoxicated with a BAC above 0.08% can be arrested and taken to jail on a DUI charge. The law enforcement will also be on the lookout for any abuse, as domestic violence is common during holidays. If you are going out on the town tonight in Tampa for Valentine’s Day, remember that a large number of law enforcement officers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are present and looking for people to confront. Have a save and enjoyable night and maintain the law during your Valentine’s Day celebration!
