In a recent case, a client of Thomas & Paulk's had a domestic violence injunction placed against him by his ex-wife. His ex-wife was contacting him while the injunction was in place and led our client to believe that she had lifted the injunction. She then contacted the police and claimed he had violated the injunction and a warrant was issued for our client's arrest. After our office was retained, we were able to contact the State Attorney's Office to show proof that she was contacting our client. The State then withdrew the warrant and dropped all charges against our client. Our office then filed a motion to have the injunction against our client lifted based on the obvious manipulation of the system by our client's ex-wife. After we presented the Court with all the evidence of contact with our client, the Judge terminated the injunction.
