From Friday into the weekend, the county sheriff's office will run through a few events meant to curb the rate of drunk driving and underage drinking. To fight against driving under the influence, deputies will take to the road to watch for any signs that drivers are intoxicated.
To combat underage drinking and underage DUIs, officers will ask for the help of a teenager to go into a local establishment to ask for alcohol. This compliance check will see whether or not the worker will ask for the teen's identification, and if so, whether or not they will sell to the minor. Even if a worker gets this far in the test, the teen will have instructions to offer a bribe if necessary. The clerk, bartender, or waiter could then fail the check by giving into the teen's offer.
