Heightened Patrol, Saturation Patrol, and Compliance Checks this Wednesday and Thursday

This week, there will be compliance checks, a saturation patrol, and a heightened patrol throughout Hillsborough County. These are all a part of the DUI enforcement run by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Local vendors of alcohol are tested through compliance checks, and drivers on the road are being watched through the various patrols. Now a compliance check could look something like a teenager walking into a convenience store or restaurant and asking to buy an alcoholic beverage (having been asked by an officer to do so as part of a test). An officer will want to find out if the teen will be carded, if they will be sold alcohol anyway, or if they can successfully offer a bribe. Saturation patrols and heightened patrols mean that more police officers will be out, alert primarily for any drivers who are under the influence, but also for any other criminal activities they witness.

Wednesday, November 6 there will be compliance checks in District I, or Northern Hillsborough County. This is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm and to end at 12:00 am. There will also be a saturation patrol going from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am in Districts I and II (Northern and Eastern Hillsborough County).

Thursday, November 7 there will be a heightened patrol throughout District IV, Southern Hillsborough County. This is set to go from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
