Possession of Marijuana Charges Dismissed

In a recent case, our team at Thomas & Paulk represented a client in Hillsborough County Court who was facing charges of marijuana possession. In this case, our client had been living with a roommate who was on probation. While not at home, the roommate's probation officer and the police visited the residence and searched our client's room, where they claimed to find marijuana.

Our client was thus arrested and charged with the possession of marijuana.

After our criminal defense law firm was retained, we immediately filed a motion to suppress the evidence by claiming that the police officer had no warrant and therefore did not have any right to search the room of our client. The court ultimately agreed with us; all evidence was suppressed and all charges were dismissed.
