Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Announces Heightened Patrol, Checkpoint

In an effort to better deal with the issues related to drunk driving the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office started Operation 3D (OP3D) – a public awareness outreach to help local residents become better informed and to encourage motorists to comply with all traffic laws. This is done as a partnership with the Sheriff's Alcohol Vendor Enforcement in an effort to "S.A.V.E." lives. This Wednesday, November 28, Operation 3D has announced that they will have heightened patrol in all the districts of Hillsborough County. According to the website, this will last from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m..

Then again on Thursday, November 29, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will have a lowman checkpoint with increased saturation in District IV. OP3D will be doing this to target Southern Hillsborough County – starting at 10 p.m. and running until 2 a.m. There will be not BAT or Transport provided during this checkpoint. Per the official announcement, OP3D will be running this at Lumsden Road and East of Providence Road.
