Felony Charges Dropped to Misdemeanor

Our Tampa criminal defense attorneys recently emerged victorious in a case involving a man who was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, which is a third-degree felony. If convicted, our client would have been facing penalties that could have included up to five years in a state prison. In this case, our client had been accused of causing a multiple car accident and then fleeing the scene without stopping.

We took on the case and immediately launched our own investigation. We found that there was not sufficient evidence to prove that our client had fled the scene and that the State could not properly prove their case. The State was thus forced to drop the felony charges against our client to misdemeanors. In the end, our client received probation and was only required to complete twenty five hours of community service.
